Romance Review | Rock Redemption (Rock Kiss #3) by Nalini Singh

OverviewKit Devigny could have loved rock guitarist Noah St. John. Their friendship burned with the promise of intense passion and searing tenderness…until the night Noah deliberately shattered her heart.

Noah knows he destroyed something precious the night he chose to betray Kit, but he’d rather she hate him than learn his darkest secret. All he has left is his music. It’s his saving grace, but it doesn’t silence the voices that keep him up at night. Chasing oblivion through endless one-night-stands, he earns a few hours’ sleep and his bad boy reputation.

When a media error sees Noah and Kit dubbed the new “it” couple, Kit discovers her chance at the role of a lifetime hinges on riding the media wave. Wanting—needing—to give Kit this, even if he can’t give her everything, Noah agrees to play the adoring boyfriend. Only the illusion is suddenly too real, too painful, too beautiful…and it may be too late for the redemption of Noah St. John.

My Review:  Sometimes we fall into a vicious circle that we can't break because love is madness and you're damned if you do and damned if you don't. Kit and Noah have this kind of love because they can't live without one another but can't actually live with each other because Noah pushes Kit away until he can't take her not being with him and calls for her. The two have a push and pull kind of live that really tugs at your heart. A gritty, heart breaking, and hopeful 4 stars is what I give to Rock Redemption

Noah has sex with any female just to have sex. He literally humps and dumps over and over again. His feelings for Kit run deeper than anything he's experienced in his life and so he refuses to mess it up by sleeping with her but ends up hurting her over and over again because he tries to show her how unworthy he is of her. To make matters worse, Noah can't let Kit leave him. He begs, pleads, and pulls at her love for him. He always reminds her that he can't breathe without her.

Noah has a really dark past that led him to have the current drug and alcohol addictions and sleeping issues. He had a seemingly perfect childhood and lives every guy's dream being a massive rock star but he's beyond damaged. Kit brings Noah peace but not enough for his demons to be exercised. Throughout the story Kit has to fight tooth and nail to get him to open up to her and allow her in.

Kit worked really hard to become an actress but her love for Noah grew over time. She loved Noah for all his faults and all his greatness. She wanted to give up but every single time she thought she could she was pulled back to him. After pushing until Noah caved, Kit learns what is truly keeping them from having a happy ending. Kit is admirable because she's fiercely loyal, loving, understanding, and clever.

The read kept me engaged throughout it because it was a bit of an emotional roller coaster. My biggest issue with the novel was the rushed ending. I hate when endings feel rushed because I want to feel at peace when the novel ends. The loose ends all came tied in the end but I could feel how rushed it was which is why the novel lost an entire star.
