A Week's Reading of Romance Novels | Week 6

My last week to read freely before my classes begin to take over and I was scrambling to inhale as many books as possible. I would like to have a degree in romance novel literature, please and thank you. Alas, this is my last entry of this sort until Spring Break. I will probably continue to do one book reviews randomly when I fit in the time to read, most likely. These reviews will be short and sweet since the book volume is high.

1. Too Much Temptation by Lori Foster

Lori Foster is one of my favorite writers of all time! I've read several books by her and have to say I really enjoyed this one. Mix a sweet but inexperienced curvy woman with a sexy playboy type who just ended his engagement and you have Grace and Noah. Grace has always had a thing for Noah but he always had someone else until he breaks off his engagement. Grace is Team Noah and rushes to check on him once she's heard the news from his grandmother, her employer. A few things turn and eventually you have Grace filled with Noah in the most delicious of ways. Things become complicated and loyalties and feelings tested. The story is a good one and I'm glad it revolves around a shy woman who is not comfortable in her own body because so many women aren't, even if they are viewed as skinny or what have you. The writing is fantastic, the story keeps you hooked, and Noah's hot ass keeps you wanting him to fill you up instead of Grace. If you're looking for a standalone to read where you can connect really well, this is the book for you.

2. Feeling Hot by Ellie Kennedy

Guy meets gal, they make out, and guy gets gals number to call her to pick up where things left off. Well, let's make that scenario more complicated, shall we? Guy is a Navy SEAL and gal is coming into guy's life to be protected as she is his Lieutenant's young sister. Gal becomes strictly off limits even when she makes his cock harder than granite and she's in need of him as badly as he's in need of her. Cash and Jen make for an interesting read because of their personalities and sexual appetites. The writing is great, the plot has enough winds in the road to keep you reading and the sex is great. A fabulous standalone for anyone who just wants a hot Navy SEAL in their bed.

3. Pierced and Fractured by Sydney Landon

Unlikely lovers from different walks of life and different class levels come together in Sydney Landon's series. Lucian is a the owner of one of the most prominent software companies in the world making him richer than all hell. He's complicated, sexy, wealthy, brilliant and a God in bed. Honestly, what more could you want from a man? Insert Lia, our beautiful struggling college student. Once she meets Lucian she knows he is out of her league but that doesn't stop her from feeling the heat. The two dance around one another until Lucian goes in for what he wants most, Lia by his side and the consequences or her arguments be damned. There are quite a few twists and turns making the plot more than interesting while there's enough sex to satisfy your lusty self. I'd recommend this series to just about anyone and dare you not to fall in love with Lucian.

4. Come Away with Me by Kristen Proby

Natalie loves photography and is good at it, really good. She bumps into Luke one morning as she is snapping shots of the area around her and a couple not noticing her when he all but attacks her. After figuring out it was a misunderstanding, Natalie tries to get away from him as fast as possible. Fate has other plans as they end up in the same shop and Luke won't take no for an answer. Natalie and Luke begin their relationship with Luke holding back a secret that could tear them apart. The writing is of good quality, the story line is interesting with the random curve balls and the characters make you love them. This is the first book in her series but finishes Natalie's and Luke's story so it can be read as a standalone.

5. One Night Stand by J.S. Cooper & Helen Cooper

One Night Stand is a quick read but that doesn't mean it isn't a good one. One night stands after a wedding are not supposed to be at your house talking with your father or engaged to your sister. Xander can't believe Liv is the sister of the woman he just got engaged to and he can't seem to get her out of his system. Liv tries to keep distance but the pull to Xander is undeniable, especially when he goes out of his way to be near her, with her, and inside of her. Matters of lust and of the heart tend to make things complicated and Liv and Xander are living the tale. The writing was decent and the story line, while a bit rushed as the book is short, is interesting enough to keep you hooked.

6. Last Second Chance by Caisey Quinn

7. Throb by Vi Keeland

I've read a story or two by Vi Keeland before so I knew her writing style suited me. We find our heroine is on a reality show that the brother of the one man who makes her burn is running. We find our hero meets our heroine at a card game one night and feels instant attraction. He has to have her and her shying away doesn't stop his desire. Kate and Cooper steer a complicated love affair that neither of them planned to have. The story line keeps you guessing while the hot male keeps you swooning. The plot line is interesting, the characters are likeable (I want to take Cooper home) and the book is overall pretty fabulous.

8. Spin and Ruin by CD Reiss

Do you like danger? The Songs of Corruption Series is dangerously good with an Italian Mafia tied man and a witty, passionate socialite. Two people from opposite walks of life meet by chance and that's all it takes to spark a spiral of passion, war and love. Theresa and Antonio dance between the lines of what is right, what is wrong, and show just how life is never black and white but many, many shades of grey. The two also show how far love makes us go to hold onto the one person who makes us feel alive and knows us better than we ever thought possible. The writing is fabulous, the story line is compelling and well thought out, and the main two characters develop well while the others around them are perfected placed. I love this series and cannot wait for the next book to come out. It brings me pain to not know what happens next in Antonio and Theresa's story! Action, passion, sex, love and a bad ass Italian male all wrapped in these pages so give it a read!
